Description

Chocolate chip cookies to die for!

Ingredients

  • 4 cubes (1 Lb. Total) Butter
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Soda
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Vanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 6 cups To 6 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 3 cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

I put the butter while still in the wrapper in the microwave for about 7 seconds. Just soften it up a little so it’s easier to stir.

Add butter (1 pound—yep, it isn’t a typo, it really is 4 cubes), eggs, baking soda, brown sugar, and vanilla together. Mix for 15 seconds.

Then add salt, baking powder and white sugar. Mix for another 15 seconds. Next add the flour (6 to 6 1/2 cups). I start off with 6 cups but if the dough still feels sticky, I add another 1/2 cup. Mix well.

Once it is mixed, add your chocolate chips. For variety, I like to add 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1 cup butterscotch chips and a few white chips. Yummy!

Bake at 375F for 10 minutes or until golden brown on top. This make a lot of cookies, around 4 dozen. I stick half of them in the freezer for a fun treat on a hot day!

Definitely too salty for my liking, next time I’ll reduce the salt for sure. Otherwise, nice texture.

These cookies are a-mazing!

I recently got married and included a “cookie buffet” for guest favors. I did a couple of family recipes, and then two giant batches of chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies. This is the recipe I used for the chocolate chips, and oh my goodness they were awesome! They are remarkably like the cookies you can buy at the grocery store or from a bakery, definitely a texture I hadn’t yet been able to get from other recipes. In the salty spectrum, these are a little on the saltier side, which I loved.

My only word of caution is that the recipe makes a lot of cookies, and not all of the batter fit into my Kitchenaid. It’s not so ridiculous though that you can’t make it fit in your standard mixer.

Good work!
