Description

Rich, decadent dark chocolate frozen yogurt that’s also low in fat!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 can (12 Oz. Size) Fat-free Evaporated Milk
  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Plain Low-fat Yogurt (can Also Use Greek Yogurt)

Preparation

Note: This recipe makes about 1/2 quart of frozen yogurt.

1. Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Add the evaporated milk, chocolate chips, vanilla and cocoa powder. Heat over medium heat until the mixture begins to thicken, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the yogurt. Refrigerate until well-chilled.

2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Notes:
– If you want to make just regular chocolate frozen yogurt, use regular unsweetened cocoa powder instead of the Hershey’s Special Dark powder.
– This frozen yogurt is really delicious, but also rich. If you want to cut the richness, just use 1 tablespoon of the cocoa powder

Delicious, creamy, rich goodness! We made this frozen yogurt for company today and it was perfect! We used a honey flavored Greek yogurt cup and added just a sprinkle of cinnamon and it highlighted the dark chocolate flavor in a very pleasant way. This was very easy to put together and was in the ice cream maker in no time! I will be making this again!
