Description

An incredible cool, creamy strawberry pie. Perfect for your summer berries!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Baked Pie Shell
  • 1 pint Fresh Strawberries, Washed And Dried
  • 1-½ stick Butter
  • ½ cups Flour
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Whole Milk

Preparation

Have your pie shell ready. Cut the tops off the strawberries and cut the berries in half.

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. With a whisk, incorporate the flour. Add the sugar, and then gradually, add the milk as you keep stirring. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until the custard is very thick. Immediately pour the thickened filling into the baked pie shell. Smooth it out with a spatula while it is still hot. Then, arrange your strawberries over the pie.

Refrigerate the pie until you want to serve it—it does need about 4 hours minimum.

Serves 6-8.

I have searched for this recipe for over 2 hours tonight. Could not for the life of me remember where I saw it. I’m going to make it for our Fourth of July cookout. It looks delish.

My husband and I thought this was really good but my kids who are normally strawberry anything lovers didn’t like it as much, hence the 4 mitt rating. I added a little strawberry jam to the bottom of the pie crust.

Delicious! Made this tonight for after a dinner of ribs and it was so good! I used a graham cracker crust and raspberries instead of strawberries, just cut them in half. Like the other reviewer, I put a layer of berries on the bottom, before the custard, and then another layer on top. Fantastic!

So good!!! I did put it in a graham cracker crust and I added a layer of strawberry slices at the bottom. I made this for a barbecue on Wednesday night and just made another this morning for a different barbecue tonight. Super easy and very yummy.
