Description

This is super tasty and SO easy. Makes a great dough for turnovers or pies. Also, if you would like to use it for savory recipes, omit the sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ½ cups Butter, Cold And Cut Into 1/2 Inch Pieces
  • 8 ounces, weight Cold Cream Cheese Cut Into 9 Pieces

Preparation

1. Place flour, sugar and salt in a food processor and blend to mix together well.
2. Add the cold butter pieces and process for 8-10 seconds or until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
3. Add the cream cheese and pulse 30 times or until large, shaggy-looking clumps form.
4. Turn the dough out onto your work surface and knead gently to create a cohesive dough.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
6. Roll out on a lightly floured surface and use in place of regular pastry when ever you like!

This is a great dough for dumplings or danishes or really any recipe you would use regular pastry. I have used it for peach dumplings and baked them at 350 degrees F.
