Description

Fresh pears in a sweet tart.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole 9 Inch Unbaked Pie Crust
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Slivered Almonds
  • ¾ teaspoons Lemon Zest
  • 2 whole Medium Pears, Peeled And Sliced
  • Chunks Of Butter, For Dotting On Top Of The Tart
  • _____
  • FOR THE OPTIONAL GLAZE:
  • 3 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Milk
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons Slivered Almonds

Preparation

Place the pie crust in a pie pan or dish. In a bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, flour, almonds, and lemon zest. Add the pears, toss to coat. Spoon into the pastry, covering the bottom of the pan. Dot with butter. Fold edges of pastry over the pears. Bake uncovered in a 375ºF oven 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

For the optional glaze, in a bowl combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over the tart, then sprinkle with the slivered almonds.

With a dip of ice cream, this is wonderful!
