Description

This Double Chip Cookies in a Jar homemade gift is just as thoughtful as it is delicious! Perfect for the holidays!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE JAR MIX:
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 dash Salt
  • ¾ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • FOR THE COOKIES:
  • ¾ cups Butter
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla

Preparation

Note you will also need a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar with lid and ring, as well as decoration supplies.

For the jar mix:
Layer the first 6 ingredients in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar in the order listed above. Seal jar and cover lid with a square of fabric (optional). Attach label with the below instructions on it with raffia or string.

To make cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl using an electric mixer beat butter until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla (mixture may appear curdled at this point).

Pour cookie mix into a separate bowl and stir well. Add it into the butter mixture until well blended.

Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven. Cool for 2 minutes on the cookie sheet. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
