Description

Coffee cake and pound cake get together to make a hybrid: the coffee cake pound cake. It’s moist, buttery, and slightly sweet. Perfect with your morning coffee.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 2 sticks Butter, Softened
  • 1-¾ cup Sugar, Divided
  • 2  Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour a tube pan.

In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately to butter mixture, beating until just combined after each addition.

Spread half of the mixture into your prepared pan. Stir together remaining 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture over batter. Top with remaining batter and sprinkle the top with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 30 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you’re feeling fancy. Enjoy!
