Description

A cross between a cookie and a brownie, these are Coconut Chocolate Almond Congo Bars.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • ¼ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ⅓ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • ⅓ cups Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 7 Tablespoons Butter, Room Temperature
  • _____
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • ¼ cups Sweetened Coconut Flakes
  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ¼ cups Milk Chocolate Chips
  • ¾ cups Sweetened, Condensed Milk
  • ⅓ cups Almonds, Roughly Chopped

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Centigrade. Grease a 9×9 inch pan with butter and dust with flour. Mix the crust ingredients together. Mix until the dough is crumbly. Spread this evenly into your pan and flatten very slightly. Bake for 10 minutes or until the crust is slightly golden.

Mix the topping ingredients together. Spread this mixture evenly over the topping. Bake in the oven for approximately 20 minutes or until the top appears set and the edges just begin to brown. Cool on a wire rack until completely cold before cutting into bars.
