These cookies are an old favorite. 13 short years ago I would make a bucket of these cookies for each of my co-workers. That was when I had 6 co-workers. Now? 44 co-workers. They might get a full tray to share, no more bucket o’ cookies for each person. They stay soft and chewy—so addicting.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time; beat well after adding each.
Add dry ingredients. Refrigerate 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Press half a nut into the center, then sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake at 350ºF for 12–15 minutes.
