Description

These magic cookie bars are ready to go into the oven before it has even pre-heated! A chocolate cookie base is topped with soft caramels, hazelnuts, coconut, sweetened condensed milk and Baileys Irish Cream!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter
  • 2-½ cups Chocolate Cookie Crumbs, Such As Oreos
  • 20 whole Soft Caramels (like Kraft Brand), Unwrapped And Quartered
  • 1-¼ cup Chocolate Chips; Milk Chocolate Or Semi-sweet
  • ⅓ cups Hazelnuts, Coarsely Chopped
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ⅓ cups Bailey's Irish Cream
  • ¼ cups Shredded Coconut, Sweetened

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil, and spray with non-stick spray (don’t forget the sides of the pan).

In a medium sized microwavable bowl, melt the butter (heat for 30 seconds at a time until melted). Stir in the cookie crumbs until evenly moistened and spread into the 9×13 inch pan. You may press gently with a spatula to get them evenly spread.

Scatter the caramels, chocolate chips and hazelnuts over the cookie crust.

In a medium bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with the Baileys. Spread as evenly as possible over the crust.

Bake for 25 minutes. At this point the bars should be lightly browned. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with the coconut.

Allow to cool and set for at least 2 hours before carefully cutting the bars and removing from the foil.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Bars may also be frozen. You may wish to microwave for 10 seconds to soften the caramels before serving.
