Description

I was making cowboy cookies and didn’t have enough chocolate chips, so I decided to use melted Baker’s chocolate instead.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 sticks Butter, Melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 5 ounces, weight (5 Squares) Baker's Squares Semi-sweet Chocolate, Melted
  • 1-½ cup Oats

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.

2. In a large bowl, add white sugar, brown sugar and eggs. Melt butter and add it to the bowl. Add vanilla and mix on medium speed. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Sift into the bowl. Mix. Scrape the sides with a bowl scraper. Mix again. Take beaters out and stir in the oats with a big spoon. Then add the melted chocolate squares and stir in with the spoon.

3. Roll dough into walnut-sized portions and bake for 15 to 17 minutes. (Note: They may look under-cooked, but let them cool and they will harden.)
