Description

Enjoy a traditional “Chocolate Chip Cookie” skillet style. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

Ingredients

  • 2-¼ cups All Purose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Butter
  • ¾ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ¾ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-½ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375°F. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Press cookie dough mixture into a large oven proof skillet. Press to flatten, covering the bottom of the pan.

Bake until the edges are brown and top is golden, 40 to 45 minutes. If the cookie starts to brown too quickly, cover with a sheet of aluminum foil sprayed with a bit of baking spray and continue cooking. Transfer to a wire rack to cool, about 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into 8 wedges. Serve each with a scoop of ice cream or all by itself. Ice cream is best.

If you have a favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, just use that one. Any cookie recipe will do.

This was fun and yummy! I think if I make it again I’ll use a whole teaspoon of salt (I love the salty/sweet combination). As the previous commenter stated it’s a good idea to check at about the 20 min mark and put foil over it. I didn’t and mine was quite brown.

Forgot to add. I put aluminum foil on after 20 min. I cooked for about 40 min.

I made this in a 12′ skillet over the weekend. Didn’t know what to expect as I had never made a cookie like this. The results were amazing! So good. I am making it againg today. I shared it with friends and family over the weekend and they all loved it as well. Definately a keeper!
My Brother in law requested I put vanilla frosting on it and make it for his birthday cake : )
