Description

Found these over 10 years ago, and I must say these are my favorite. Light and crispy with lots of chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Softened Butter Or Baking Margarine Sticks (such As I Can't Believe It's Not Butter)
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Sugar (plus Extra For Rolling)
  • 1 cup Sifted Confectioners Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 bag (12 Oz. Size) Mini Semi-chocolate Chips

Preparation

1. Combine butter, oil, granulated sugar, confectioner’s sugar, and eggs in a large bowl. Beat till smooth and creamy.
2. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
3. Add to butter mixture and beat till smooth.
4. Stir in vanilla and chips.
5. Shape into 1″ balls. If dough is oily, that is okay, do not add any more flour.
6. Roll in sugar.
7. Place 2″ apart on ungreased cookie sheets. (They will spread.)
8. Bake at 375ºF for 10-12 minutes or lightly browned.
9. Remove to cooling racks and cool completely before storing in containers.

Yields about 75 cookies.
