Description

These peanut butter cookies are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. But the best part about them is that each bite also comes with the perfect amount of pretzel and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Soda
  • 3 cups Salted Creamy Natural Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1-½ cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 4  Large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1-½ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups Salted Pretzel Pieces

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.

In a large bowl using a mixer, beat peanut butter and sugars on high until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until combined. Reduce speed to low and stir in the flour mixture just until combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips and pretzel pieces.

Use a cookie dough scoop or tablespoon to place cookie dough balls (about 2 tablespoons each) onto a baking sheet that you’ve lined with parchment paper. (Note: the dough will be a little greasy, that is OK).

Bake for 11-13 minutes or until or cookies are brown around the edges.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.

My goodness–the salty and the sweet–I have to try these. And they look like something even my grandkids will like!

I really, really wanted this recipe to turn out – I mean chocolate, pretzels, and peanut butter…what’s not to love?? Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. I followed the recipe as written but ended up with a greasy, crumbly dough that was very difficult to work with. I made the first 2 dozen cookies, but after I tried one – I just tossed the remainder of the dough. (Mine didn’t have much flavor and the texture of the cookie was heavy and odd.) I’ve read back over the recipe to see if maybe I forgot something or mis-measured an ingredient. If someone else is able to get these to turn out, let me know – maybe I was just having a bad day in the kitchen or something :)
