Description

Chocolate and butterscotch combine with cake mix for a moist, delectable bar.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (18.25 Oz. Box) Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 package (3.4 Oz. Box) Instant Butterscotch Pudding Mix
  • ½ cups Oil
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Flake Coconut
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (reserve 1/2 Cup For Glaze)
  • 1 cup Butterscotch Chips
  • 3 Tablespoons Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine

Preparation

Heat oven to 350F (or 375 degrees for higher altitude). Lightly grease a 13×9″ baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, dry pudding mix, oil, and eggs. By hand, stir until well blended.

Stir in chocolate chips, coconut, and 1/2 cup nuts. Press mixture in prepared pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. For higher altitude (Utah): bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Let cool in pan.

In a small saucepan, combine glaze ingredients (butterscotch chips, milk, butter). Melt over low heat, stirring until smooth.

Drizzle over warm bars. Sprinkle with reserved nuts.

Makes 36 bars … or so.

This is definitely a keeper! I love that it is eay to make and looks wonderful in the pan and after it has been cut.
And…if you dare…would hold up beautifully under a scoop of Blue Bell! :)
I made one small revision in the recipe. I used white chocolate chips instead of the sem-sweet chips in the bar, but still used the butterscotch chips for the glaze.
Mmmmmmmmmmm! Loved it!!
