Description

Just kidding! It’s neither gourmet nor fancy. In fact, it’s one of the simplest treats you can possibly make. But it’s yummy and you can serve it soft and fluffy (like mousse) or refreeze it for more of an ice cream-like texture. Or put it in a graham cracker crust and turn it into a pie!

I learned this recipe from a fellow soccer mom and am so glad I gave it a whirl.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Cool Whip
  • 2 Tablespoons Strong Brewed Coffee, Completely Cooled
  • 1 whole Hershey Bar With Almonds

Preparation

Allow Cool Whip to thaw on the counter for ten to fifteen minutes.

Gently stir in cool coffee until combined.

Melt Hershey bar in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes, then stir into Cool Whip mixture. Since the Cool Whip is cold, it will solidify the candy bar in tiny particles.

Serve soft or refreeze and serve as an ice-cream type treat.

I used a Hershey Symphony Bar (it contains almonds and small pieces of toffee) to melt into the Cool Whip. It was out of this world! I didn’t want to share with anyone, and could have eaten the whole batch myself.
I enjoyed it frozen and straight from the fridge. It is a simple versatile dessert.

I wasn’t crazy over eating this just on it’s own as a mousse. It was tasty, but I think it would be better served as a topping for a dessert (cake, pie, brownie etc) instead of being the dessert itself.

This was realy good for what it is. I do like the frozen versious better. This is really easy and would be great for kids to help make. Now my brain is trying to figure out some other candies to use. YUM!

This is wonderful – easy, quick, delicious. I used an 8-oz carton of Cool Whip and 5 Hershey Halloween snack bars plus the coffee. My daughter and I loved it.

Fun to make in a pinch, but it was what it was. Although the thought of adding more chocolate certainly sounds appealing….and yet at the same time I’m thinking about using fat-free cool whip. I’m such a tortured soul.
