Description

Very rich, decadent brownies, but so simple to make.

Ingredients

  • 4-½ ounces, weight Butter
  • 4-½ ounces, weight Dark Chocolate
  • 7 ounces, weight Soft Brown Sugar
  • 3 whole Eggs, Lightly Beaten
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1-⅞ ounces, weight Plain Flour, Sieved
  • 1-⅞ ounces, weight Cocoa
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 5-⅓ ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 1-½ ounces, weight Caster Sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
Melt the butter, dark chocolate and brown sugar together over low heat, until butter and chocolate are melted.
Remove from heat and whisk in eggs and vanilla.
Add flour, cocoa and baking powder and stir until combined.
Pour into a greased and lined brownie tin.
Beat together cream cheese and caster sugar until smooth and creamy.
Drop by spoonfuls randomly over the chocolate mixture and swirl using the tip of a knife.
Bake for 30 – 40 minutes, or until cooked through.
