Description

Ooey gooey bars with pecans, coconut, chocolate and caramel!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter, Cut Into Chunks
  • 2 cups Coarsely Chopped Pecans
  • 1 cup Flaked Coconut
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 11 ounces, weight Caramel Bits
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Or Chunks

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F.

In a medium bowl, stir together flour and brown sugar. Use a pastry blender to cut butter into mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Press crumb mixture onto the bottom of an un-greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven.

Sprinkle pecans and coconut over hot crust.

In a small bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Pour over pecans and coconut, spreading evenly.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until milk mixture is just set. Remove from oven. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel bits and milk. Microwave for 30 seconds and then stir. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each time, until mixture is melted and smooth.

Pour melted caramel over bars. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
