Description

Caramel smothered apple blondies—the perfect fall dessert!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Unsalted Butter, melted
  • ⅓ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Lightly Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 whole Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Apples, Peeled And Chopped (for 1 Cup You'll Need About 1 Medium-sized Apple)
  • 3 Tablespoons Salted Caramel Sauce

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, allowing the paper to overhang the dish by a couple inches on each side so that the bars can be lifted out after baking.

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and the sugars until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and whisk together. Add the flour, salt and cinnamon and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Drizzle the caramel sauce over top of the batter.

Bake for 40-45 minutes until the caramel is bubbly and golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with only damp crumbs on it, but no wet batter. Set the pan on a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cool, the bars can be lifted out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into 16 squares. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
