These were AMAZING. My husband called them “grown up cupcakes” because they weren’t as sweet as some cupcakes. The texture was so moist and rich… I may have to try this as a layer cake!
The only thing I changed a little was the icing. Instead of the shortening (I just couldn’t stomach the thought of frosting with shortening in it…sorry!!) I used cream cheese and it was completely delicious!
