Description

These are my favorite bar cookie ever. They are so soft and moist and rich. Whenever I offer to bring dessert somewhere, this is the recipe my husband always requests. Try it. You won’t be disappointed. :)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter Or Margarine
  • ¾ cups Firmly Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 package (4 Serving Size) Vanilla Flavored Instant Pudding Mix
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2-¼ cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 package (12 Oz) Semi-sweet Mini Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Heat oven to 375F. Beat butter, sugars, pudding mix and vanilla in a large bowl on medium speed until smooth. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour and baking soda, beating until well blended. Stir in chips. (Batter will be stiff.)

Spread in a greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Do not over-bake! Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

I made these for our New Years Eve party this weekend and they were a huge hit. We all thought they tasted like a smaller version of the giant chocolate chip cookie pies you can get from the cookie stores in the mall. Very tasty!

I just copied this recipe in to my recipe book and will be making them tonight. First, I have to wash out my cake pan and then… as soon as my husband gets home I have to run to the store for more eggs. Once all that is done… I will be making us some Bugs Bunny Bars! Can’t wait to try them! I’ll come back and review when I’ve tasted them!

Will definitely try these! I love cake recipes that add a box of pudding, so I can’t wait to see how it Dr.’s up cookies!

We had friends over for dinner and I made these for dessert. They were great and the kids absolutely LOVED them! Thank you!

I’m actually not sure how they got the name…I think my mom adapted the recipe from some cartoon character recipe booklet a long time ago. That is what we’ve called them ever since I was little! Let me know if you try them.

These were good. Easy to make.
Not sure what I did wrong, but mine did not turn out with an outstanding flavor or anything…
Might or might not make them again.

As I said I would I made these bars for dessert tonight. The first words out of my husband’s mouth after he took the first bite were not words at all but rather the sound of breath catching in his throat. He nearly fainted; I swear it! He LOVED these bars! He wasn’t so keen on the name (he’s more of an Elmer Fudd fan) but he LOVED these bars! I really liked them myself. They were easy to make; the most difficult part is getting them to spread evenly in the pan. And once they were finished (and cooled) they were so breathtakingly delicious! They were very moist (all except the very edge). These are definitely something I will make again very soon, I’m sure! Thanks for sharing!
