Description

This is something I rarely make. Not sure why, since we love it, and it is easy. A nice addition to cookie trays at Christmas.

Ingredients

  • ½ pounds Butter, Softened (2 Sticks)
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla
  • 5 cups Powdered Sugar, Sifted
  • 1 package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 ounce, weight Square Semi Sweet Chocolate
  • ½ blocks Paraffin Wax

Preparation

Blend butter, peanut butter and vanilla. Add powdered sugar and knead to dough-like consistency. Form into balls and chill. Melt chocolates and paraffin over hot water. Dip balls in chocolate using a toothpick so they look like buckeyes.

Refrigerating the balls first should help. I just made these with a friend around the holidays last year, she used the toothpick to cover the hole in, I have never done that before.

My mom and Grandmother would always make these at Christmas-time. I always have a problem with the peanut butter part sliding off of my toothpick into the chocolate. Any ideas?
