This is an easy brownie recipe made special by baking in a pie pan and served with homemade hot fudge sauce and ice cream. It’s quick, easy, yummy and oh so chocolaty. I got the recipe from an old Taste of Home magazine.
To make the brownies, in a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the sugar, butter, and water to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in the chocolate chips until melted. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl beat eggs and vanilla with a wire whisk. Add chocolate mixture and mix well with a spoon. Set aside.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt and then add to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the walnuts.
Pour into a greased 9inch pie plate. Bake at 350F for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Place the dish on a wire rack to cool.
Hot Fudge Sauce:
Put chocolate chips, sugar, butter and milk into a microwave safe bowl (I used my pyrex measuring cup) and microwave just until butter and chocolate are melted. Whisk until sauce is smooth and hot fudge saucy.
Cut pie into wedges, drizzle hot fudge sauce on top and then top with ice cream and more hot fudge.
