Description

This is super-easy to make and very delicious. Basically, instead of adding eggs and oil to the mix as directed on the box, you food-process a can of black beans (unseasoned, of course) and 1/4 cup of water. Add the mix and bake according to the directions on the box, and voilà, delicious chewy brownies with more fiber than fat!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Unseasoned Black Beans, Drained And Rinsed
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 1 package Brownie Mix (12 To 14 Oz. Size, Preferably A Healthy One With Whole-grain Ingredients)

Preparation

Puree beans and water in a food processor or blender. Add beans to the brownie mix and bake according to package instructions. Don’t add any other ingredients.

I can’t wait to try these! I’m 30 weeks pregnant and can’t stop eating sweets. Hopefully this will curb the sweet tooth but without making me any bigger!! Thanks for sharing.

It’s hard to really say these were “good” when compared to a full fat fudge brownie, but for what they are and for how healthy they are they deserve 5 mitts. I may have gone even too far by using a box of sugar free brownie mix, but even that withstanding these do help with brownie cravings for people like me who are trying to be healthy/lose weight but don’t want to give up desserts.

These are delicious! My in laws are health nuts and were so excited these used black beans. My fiancee’s vegan brother is coming to live with his parents next week, and I’ll be sure to have these ready for his arrival!
