Description

Creamy banana bread pudding with chocolate chips. Delicious served warm with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk Or Half-and-Half
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 6 cups Challah Bread, Or Some Other Sweet Bread, Cubed
  • 3 whole Bananas, Peeled And Diced
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Butter a baking dish and set aside.

In a large bowl add the milk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until completely combined. To this add your cubed bread. Mix lightly until all bread is wet and allow it to absorb the liquid for a minute or two.

Meanwhile, dice your bananas. Add the bananas and chocolate chips into the bowl. Mix and pour into the prepared baking dish. Loosely cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue to bake until puffed and golden on top.

Enjoy with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, or both!

Can you use ripe bananas that have been frozen and thawed or do they need to be fresh bananas?

I bought the stuff I didn’t have on hand on the way home from work, made this FABULOUS dessert, and hubby and I ate it warm with whipped cream. This is absolutely divine!
