Description

A snack cake that would be good for breakfast, too.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter Or Margarine, Melted
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 2 whole Apples, Peeled And Diced (Golden Delicious)
  • ¾ cups Chopped Pecans Or Walnuts (optional)
  • Powdered Sugar, For Topping

Preparation

Blend sugar, margarine, and eggs in a bowl with a spoon. Stir in graham cracker crumbs, apples, and nuts until blended. Spread batter into a greased 8×8 pan. Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes or until firm to the touch. Sprinkle liberally with confectioner’s sugar. Cool and then cut into squares.

We love this. I saw it on southernplate.com and couldn’t wait to try it. Shared it with my folks and it’s a new favorite for them as well. Think I’ll try adding some plump raisins next time.
