Description

What do you get when you have a lot of apples and a can of biscuits in your fridge? The ingredients needed for a wonderful batch of apple dumplings, of course!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Apples, Peeled And Chopped
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 10 whole Canned Biscuits
  • ½ cups Sprite
  • FOR THE SAUCE:
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter

Preparation

In a saucepan combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon and butter. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture is thickened up and the apples are just soft. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Roll out each biscuit individually on a floured surface to approximately doubled in dimension. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture into the center of each biscuit, fold over and pinch/roll the edges of the biscuit together. Place the biscuits in an 11×7 inch greased baking dish. Preheat over to 350ºF.

On the stovetop place the sauce ingredient into a saucepan. Cook over low heat until combined well. Pour over the biscuit/dumplings and spread it evenly. Pour the Sprite over the entire pan. Place it in the oven and bake 30-45 minutes until golden brown.

Top with whipped cream, frozen yogurt, or ice cream. Serves 10.
