Description

What makes my perfect apple crisp? Brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, oats, and butter!

Ingredients

  • 5 whole Granny Smith Or Gala Apples, Peeled, Cored, And Diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 dash Allspice
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Oats
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, Cold, Cut Into 1" Pieces

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix the apples, lemon juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, maple syrup, 3 Tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and dash of allspice together in medium bowl. Spoon into either 6-8 individual ramekins or an 8″x8″ baking dish.

For the topping: Mix together 1/2 cup flour, oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Then with a fork or your fingers, cut in the butter until it forms pea sized lumps. You can also do this in the food processor by pulsing ingredients until it forms pea sized lumps.

Sprinkle the topping over the filled ramekin dishes or baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream….this is not optional. Enjoy!
