This was really, really good. I was looking for a good apple crisp recipe (some I’ve tried in the past didn’t have the taste or texture I was looking for), and this was it. I used about half the apples, cut in thin slices. I like a lot of topping, so it was perfect. I put it in a 1.5 quart casserole dish instead of on a cookie sheet–it made for thicker slices. I will be making this again.

Very yummy apple crisp. I put it in a cake pan instead of a cookie sheet, I was afraid I would make a mess all over my oven without sides. But it turned out wonderfully, I only got 1 piece it was gone so quickly.

Wow, this was awesome! I just made this for dessert tonight. I didn’t have any lemons so it was missing the lemon zest, which would probably just make it even better. And, I put in less sugar (just over 1/4 cup), per the suggestion of other reviewers. It was perfectly sweet. Thanks for the great recipe!

This was an excellent apple crisp! Perfect texture, not too wet/soggy underneath the topping, perfect apple:topping ratio. I didn’t have any lemons so also skipped the lemon zest and it was fine. I also made it in a 9×13 pan, which worked perfectly. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I did use the full sugar amounts – I didn’t find it too sweet, but I may try to cut back a little next time. Also, I might add a bit more cinnamon or add a touch to the topping – it was supremely tasty and not bland at all, but I like a strong cinnamon taste.

Excellent recipe! My husband said it was the best apple crisp he’s ever had. I cut the sugar a bit in both the apples and the topping, which I almost always do in recipes anyway. It turned out perfect for me. I cooked mine in a 9×13 glass baking dish, and put it on a baking sheet as directed. It didn’t spill over at all, but it looked close at times, so I’m glad the reminder for the extra sheet was there (thank you
)

Delicious! I left out the lemon zest. I also changed the topping a bit – I couldn’t bring myself to use TWO sticks of butter in the topping, so I used one, reduced the flour a bit and increased the oatmeal. Loved it!

This was SO DELICIOUS!!!!! I did use a deep baking dish instead of a cookie sheet and it still came out excellent. My husband was craving apple crumb pie and said this was so much better. This is a saver for sure.

This was REALLY GOOD!!!! Perfect consistency. Not too much sugar, not too much flour. Great recipe!

This is, HANDS DOWN, the BEST apple crisp recipe I’ve ever made. It is dynamite! I baked mine in a deep dish stoneware pie pan. It was out of this world!!

This was amazing. I didn’t even use the mixer; just cut the butter into little pieces and then stirred it all. Turned out great!

I made this for one of my desserts on Thanksgiving. It was REALLY good! I used all Granny Smith apples and added some cranberries. Next time, I will probably cut back on the sugar just a bit – it didn’t need quite that much. The topping was fantastic! This is definitely a keeper!

Oh my word!!! This recipe is hands down the BEST apple crisp I have EVER had! It was so simple to make (I even let my 4 & 6 yr old help) and tastes incredible. Had it for Thanksgiving in 09 and made it again for friends who loved it & asked for the recipe. Perfect amount of topping (altho I must say I’m tempted to double it, since our family is all about the crisp) add some ice cream on top and it’s perfection!

I made this last night and it was absolutely delicious! I cut back on the sugar from 1/2 cup to 1/4 cup. Then I sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on top once I put the crumb topping on the apples. Next time, I would probably cut down the topping amount. I placed all my apples in a pie dish, and I had twice the amount of topping that I needed. I really piled it on, and I still had a bunch left!

I made a half-batch of this the other night for my crisp-loving hubby. His verdict?? Good, but too sweet. I had seen other comments on here about reducing the sugar, but wanted to try the original recipe first. I was shocked by the sheer amount of butter, and ashamed when I realized I had eated about a quarter a stick of butter! Still, it’s a very good recipe! And maybe worth the butter shame!

I went apple picking today and came right home and made this! It was absolutely wonderful! For some reason I had a lot of crumbs left over, but we nibbled on it while we waited for it to bake! Really great recipe! (:
