  • 1 can (20 Ounces) Cherry Pie Filling
  • 1 can (20 Ounces) Crushed Pineapple, Do Not Drain
  • 1 box (18 Ounces) Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup Shredded Coconut
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans
  • ¾ cups Melted Butter

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Layer ingredients in the order listed in a (Pam) sprayed 9×13 pan. End by drizzling the butter over the whole cake. DO NOT STIR OR MIX! Bake for 1 hour.

Congratulations on your contest! I consider that a win. 2nd out of 20? Way to go! It really is a quick, easy, great tasting dessert. ~Kathy

I went to a potluck barbecue this weekend and needed a quick recipe and this one seemed to be easy enough. I made the cake and took it to the barbecue and they had a “Dessert Contest” – out of about 20 wonderful looking (and tasting desserts) – I got 2nd place for this cake!!! Thanks for sharing your recipe!!

My family has been making dump cakes for as long as I remember, with all different kinds of pie filling, but I’ve never made one with the coconut added…and I notice you use a bit more butter than we did….

More butter?

How could a person go wrong with more butter?

Thanks !
