Description

I really don’t care for store bought mustards or condiments. Although I do use some for cooking, I prefer my own when making a ham sandwich. This is very hot and spicy just the way a good mustard should be…love this on hot dogs and hamburgers too!!!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ½ cups Mustard Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric Or To Taste
  • 4 ounces, fluid To 6 Ounces Of White Vinegar, Apple Cider Vinegar Or Champagne Vinegar (just Enough To Reach Spreading Consistency)
  • 2 teaspoons Mustard Seeds
  • 1 jar 8 Ounce Size Canning Jar, Lid And Ring

Preparation

Mix together all the dry ingredients (except mustard seeds). Add the vinegar just until you have a nice spreadable consistency. Mix in mustard seeds. Store in a 8 ounce canning jar.

With this recipe the important thing to remember is equal amounts of sugar, flour and mustard powder. Mix in the turmeric to taste and then add enough vinegar to mix into a spreadable paste. Store in a jar and let sit for a day or so to mingle flavors. No need to refrigerate.

This is delicious!!! Be prepared to share the recipe.
I have been making this for over 20 years.
