Description

My wife, Jo, loves fish tacos and every place she has them, they are served accompanied by a creamy cilantro sauce. Our favourite taco joint in Mission Viejo, California also serves this type sauce with their pork and shrimp tacos, so she developed this sauce recipe to duplicate that taste and so she could enjoy this flavour at home in Utah. She succeeded!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Sour Cream
  • ¼ cups Fresh Cilantro, Finely Chopped
  • ¼ cups Italian Flat Leaved Parsley, Finely Chopped
  • 1 whole Lime, Juiced
  • ¼ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • ½ teaspoons Commercial Chili Powder

Preparation

1. Combine all ingredients in the container of a blender or food processor and process until a very smooth consistency is achieved.
2. Serve immediately as an accompaniment for shrimp, fish, or pork tacos or place in a sterile, capped container in the refrigerator until ready to use (can be kept for several days if refrigerated).

That looks great! I would aslo like to know what Taco Joint? I’m near MV, too & we’re always looking for a good Taco place.

Which taco joint in MV? I live just north of there! Made a similar sauce to this a couple days ago with some shrimp & a mexican-inspired salad, but next time will try your recipe. Thanks!
