Description

Why bother buying Italian sausage when you can so quickly mix up a batch yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Parsley
  • 3 Tablespoons Dried Italian Herb Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Garlic
  • ¾ teaspoons Dried Red Pepper Flakes (use Up To 1 1/2 Depending On Taste)
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Whole Fennel Seeds (crushed If Desired)
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • 3 teaspoons Granulated Onion (up To 4 Teaspoons, To Taste)
  • 3 Tablespoons Salt

Preparation

Blend together the spices and herbs. Store in an air tight container.

To use, blend 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the seasoning blend into 1 pound of ground meat (chicken, turkey, or pork). Add more or less of the Italian seasoning bend to taste. Use seasoned sausage as called for in your recipe.

If time allows, add seasoning to the meat and refrigerate for several hours before using to allow time for the flavors to blend.

This is delicious in ground turkey. I am anxious to try it in ground pork.

this is terrific. I make sausage and this is great. Used it in a chicken meatloaf and the taste was delicious.

Hey, thanks for the recipe. Coming from Chicago, I grew up with great Italian sausage. Hard to find out here in the West. Oh the things we take for granted when we’re young!

Very good! I use ground turkey for this recipe. It makes the best sausage for pizzas. This tasted so much better than store bought sausage and is so much healthier for my family.
