Description

Wonderful flavor of ginger and fig with a little kick!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh Figs, Coarsely Chopped
  • 2-¼ cups Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Water
  • ¼ cups Lemon Juice, Freshly Squeezed
  • 4 Tablespoons Crystalllized Ginger, Chopped Fine
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes or until thick, stirring frequently. Cool; pour into airtight containers.

Note: Refrigerate Fig and Ginger Jam in airtight containers up to six weeks.

This recipe was so simple to make and it is delicious. The ginger goes perfectly with the fig.

This recipe is an amazing way to “preserve” figs when they are in abundance! It was such an easy recipe, and the ginger gives quite a nice surprise. Try it on a grilled sammie made with Brie, challah, and a bit of proscuitto.
