Description

A yummy alternative to store bought enchilada sauce. Very easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (29 Oz Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 1 can (4 Oz. Size) Diced Green Chilies
  • ½ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper

Preparation

Place all ingredients in a blender and liquefy! Voila! You have homemade enchilada sauce that tastes so much better than anything you can buy in the store.

Note: Salt and pepper ratio is a matter of taste. This is the amount I used; feel free to change to your taste.

I have never liked canned enchilada sauce. This recipe is fresh tasting and delicious. It will be my go-to enchilada sauce.

You are so right, Carol!! So much better than store bought. I did make a little paste with 1/4 cup oil and 2 TBL. flour before I added the tomato sauce and spices, and it’s wonderful!
