Description

I love to make my own seasoning blends. Homemade blends usually have so much more intensity to their flavor and taste more authentic than store-bought packaged mixes. Plus, no MSG or other chemicals. Just good flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Oregano
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Basil
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon White Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Celery Seed

Preparation

Mix all ingredients together very well. Store in an air-tight container. You’ll notice there is no salt in this recipe. This is so that you can adjust salt accordingly in your recipe.

I use this seasoning in my red beans and rice, shrimp creole, and many other spicy dishes. Just substitute it for the required amount of Creole or Cajun seasoning that your recipe requires.
