Cocoa waffles studded with chocolate chips and finished with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. It’s a “Treat Yo’ Self” kind of breakfast.

I modified a basic waffle recipe, adding cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Delicious. The waffle was not overly sweet and the addition of the chocolate chips added to the richness of the batter, but did not make them too sweet. You could top these with a variety of toppings depending on what occasion you are making them for.

These waffles are easy to make and slightly healthy if you serve them with agave nectar instead of the icing. You can substitute carrot baby food or any other brand of squeezable carrot flavored mush for the Bangalla brand.
