Description

Fresh strawberries and a shot of Jack Daniels. What could be better?

Ingredients

  • 2-¼ cups Fresh Strawberries, Hulled And Roughly Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Corn Syrup
  • 4 Tablespoons Jack Daniel's
  • 2 Tablespoons Jelly Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Atamon (or Other Preservative)

Preparation

In a thick bottomed pot, stir the strawberries, corn syrup and Jack Daniels together over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, stirring often.

Add the jelly powder and bring back to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly and add a tablespoon of Atamon or other preservative. Pour into jars and allow to cool before covering.

Good on toast, scones or pork chops. Be creative, I dare you :D

I would also like to know what to substitute for Atamon.

Interesting recipe with the Jack Daniels added. Is the jelly powder otherwise known as pectin, and where would one find Atamon? I have never heard of this preservative before.
