Description

This is a tart but simple applesauce.

Ingredients

  • 5 whole Green Apples
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  • ½ cups Water

Preparation

Peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges.

Place apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water into slow cooker, on high.

Let cook on high for about 3 hours, or on low for 4-6 hours, until the apples are mushy and easily mashed into sauce.

Once apples are to a sauce consistency, place applesauce into canning jars and seal.

Let cool then enjoy!

This usually yields three full jars.

I really liked this recipe…simple, simple! I would say that it turned out sweeter than I expected based on your description, but it was so delicious.

This was my go-to recipe again this year…I do not use granny smiths but simply whatever I can buy in bushel baskets at the orchard. So, so easy and delicious, every time. Love the ease of using a slow cooker!
