I’m gonna go ahead and give these 5 mittes on the smell alone! I cannot WAIT to taste them

I’m so glad they did a full blog with this recipe! I made some at the beginning of Sept. and just opened the jar (3 weeks later). I can’t eat hot stuff, so I tested this on my co-workers. The next day all the jars were gone, and everyone is now calling it Cowboy Crack. This is a great recipe, and if you have a thick slice blade on the cuisinart you can have this stuff whipped up and canned in no time at all. This is a great canned good gift…trust me, you will be loved for it! I have to make 6 batches the next time I get into the church kitchen just to keep up with the demand!

These are everything everyone has reviewed them to be. Don’t be shy, make some! Thanks for sharing this Rebecca

We are addicted! Made my first batch last weekend, and I KNEW they were going to be wonderful so I snagged 6 lbs of Jalapenos that were on sale this week to make two more for gifts. These will be a huge hit with my spicy loving friends. I was worried they wouldn’t retain any crispness but they had a pleasant snap. Last night we had them on crackers and cream cheese. Today they are going on my sandwich and this week we might try basting the tri-tip with my left over liquid.

These were SO good! I went and bought more peppers, and my friends and family will find these under their tree this Christmas.
(note, I mixed up the peppers, and in each jar had a combo of jalapino’s, banana peppers and others).

Wow these are incredible! We have such a huge garden of peppers and chilies this year. Thanks for helping me find the perfect recipe for all those super jalapenos!

These are fantastic! I wish I’d found the recipe before I let so many jalapeno’s to to waste on the vine. Really easy too.

Delicious. The sauce/syrup didn’t set up as well as I would like but otherwise, very good. We serve it on biscuits, on crackers with cream cheese. My husband just eats them alone. Thank you for sharing!

These sound amazing!!! How many jars does this make?
Rebecca on 5.25.2010
Her website says 9 half-pint jars.
Sherri on 5.25.2010
Oh my these sound great. We have a bunch of peppers growing in our garden right now. I am saving this recipe for when they are ripe.

Yay!!!!! I’m so glad you are on Tasty Kitchen! I’ve been reading your blog all the way through and can’t wait to try this recipe. You’ve got some great recipes.

Mam0612- Rebecca beat me to the punch. It does make 9 (1/2 pint) jars. Ish. There’s always a little give and take with these things.
Rebecca- Thank you!!
Sherri- They are great. And sadly, I am completely inept at growing hot peppers. It’s a major failing in a family full of chile heads. Must. Get. Better.
Nataleafromok- Thank you! Food and I go waaaaaay back.

Wow. I’ve never heard of candied jalapeños (tilde over the “n”). Very very interesting.

Wow this looks so good. I have a ton of chile peppers growing (if the weather would get warm here in CA) and wanted something to do with them different.

Do you cool the jars down before canning them? Cool filled jars in cool water? Or hot filled jars in hot water?
staceycooks on 5.26.2010
These look so good! I think I might have to make some of these to be dished out at our next BBQ. Thanks so much for sharing.

mangiodasola- Yes indeedy. I was too lazy to figure out how to throw that tilde in there. How DID you do that? And these candied jalape(tilde over the n)os are addictive. I highly recommend them!
techkim- This is definitely thinking outside the box with peppers, but they’re delicious!
shari- I do hot filled filled jars in hot tap water. I haven’t had a jar crack that way yet in 15 years of canning!
staceycooks- Make more than you think you’ll need. My nine jars disappeared in 3 weeks. I must make more STAT.
