I will not be going back to store bought syrup ever again! This is fantastic and so so easy to make. It was a huge crowd pleaser

Made this for a pancake breakfast I hosted after our 2nd annual Kugler Trail Massacre (a run on the trails near our house). I love, love, love it, but it may be too dangerous to have the leftovers in my fridge. I’m having daydreams about eating it with a spoon! Those who tried the syrup liked it too. Thanks!

This is the best syrup I have ever tasted and my family said they will never eat store-bought syrup again. I feel good that I am not putting processed junk in their bodies too.

Well, I’ll add my ‘hurrah’ to this long list of reviews. This was a crowd pleaser in our family of 6, even from me who is typically a real maple syrup snob. Thanks for the easy recipe, even though it’s not necessarily healthy food, I feel better serving this over the yucky fake syrup from the store.

I am in love with this sauce. We had it with french toast and strawberries, so good. I am definitely going to put this on ice cream and cinnamon rolls. Thanks for sharing!

This recipe is amazing!! I’ve made it about 6 different times and every time I receive compliments on how tasty it is!

Amazing! I don’t know how I ever lived with any other syrup. This is going to be a staple in my home.

This is by far the best syrup I have made! Thank you so much this recipe!

I usually use real maple syrup, but this is intriguing. Your website recipes look fun; can’t wait to try some. Is the Frozen Vanilla Custard the stuff in the midwest that people rave about?

This syrup is good. I’ve been making it for years and eating it with German Pancakes! Yum! Definitely try it if you haven’t…you’ll never want real syrup again. Also, if you don’t have buttermilk on hand, mix together 1 cup milk with 1 tsp. of vinegar. That will do the trick.

La Dame, I’m so glad you liked it!
Carrie, I’m not sure about the Custard being from the midwest, it’s from Alton Brown’s recipe, but I LOVE it! And my family certainly raves about it!

So good and so easy!!! I have also used it between carrot cake layers-people raved over the cake, and wanted to know what was different about it. I would recommend it to anyone, and make a double batch. You’ll want more.

I made this today to use with pancakes. I had two problems. There were curds from the buttermilk and butter combined in the sauce and, also, the end product had a heavy baking soda aftertaste. I strained the sauce and removed the curds so that worked out well, but the baking soda flavor was just too strong as an aftertaste. I WILL made this again but use less baking soda. It has the flavor of pralines, which I knew it would from just reading the ingredients. I might add some toasted pecans to it next time, too, but I’ll use it for ice cream topping! Thanks, Liza, it is good, I just need to tweak it for my taste.

This is the BEST syrup! I’m now dream of this syrup!

This is now the only syrup we use! I have to make a triple batch each time because it goes that fast.
