I use half cornmeal and half polenta in my baking, and it was great in these pancakes. Love the crunch.

I followed the recipe as written, but chose not to use the blackberry syrup (I’m not much of a fan). I used maple syrup, and these pancakes were incredible. They reminded me of my childhood nanny Mary Lou. She would make cornmeal pancakes like these for me. I remember sitting at the kitchen table watching her flip the pancakes in the pan and being so excited to eat them. They are truly a taste of my childhood.

Tus review is just for the pancakes, I didn’t make the syrup. They were great- my new favorite pancakes! If you like cornbread, you will love these.

These are perfect. I made the pancakes only and used maple syrup instead. They were the perfect sweetness and didn’t become too sweet when you added the syrup. If you love cornmeal pancakes this is a must try!

Not my family’s favorite pancake recipe, but it was good and we liked the texture the cornmeal added. I didn’t make the blackberry syrup so maybe that would have given them 5 mitts. This recipes makes a ton – 4 servings means each person gets about three 4-inch pancakes.

The whole family loves these – the texture the cornmeal adds is fabulous. My young boys are always requesting them, “cornbread pancakes, please!!” Thanks for the great recipe!

Awesome! I tried the pancakes only. We have been looking for a good cornmeal pancake recipe and this one filled the bill. Not too sweet, fluffy and just plain good.
