Description

Easy and delicious, especially when prepared overnight. Just pop it in the oven and enjoy. My family enjoys this Christmas morning after all the gifts have been opened.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Sausage
  • 12 whole Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • 8 slices Bread
  • ¼ cups Butter Or Butter Spray
  • 8 ounces, weight Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Fry and crumble sausage in a pan. Set aside.

Beat together the eggs and milk until incorporated. Mix in dry mustard and set aside.

Line a 9×13 cake pan with bread that has been buttered on both sides with the crust removed.

Pour meat over the top of the bread and season with salt and pepper if desired.

Top meat with cheddar cheese. Pour egg and milk mixture into the pan.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Note: bacon can be substituted in, as well as veggies if desired. Dry mustard can be found in the spice aisle.

This was very tasty! I made it for Easter brunch and made it the night before. the whole family loved it. I used a baguette I had instead of regular bread. It turned out delicious, and I did not even remove the crust!
