This was delicious! I made it with apples and used brown sugar instead of the demerara. My family gobbled it up. I also made the vanilla sauce mentioned in the related blog post. It was great. Thanks for a new family favorite!

So good! I used pears and substituted turbinado sugar for the demerara, and pecan pieces for the almonds. My 3 year old loved it and we are both looking forward to trying it again with different fruits. Thanks for sharing this fantastic recipe!!!

This is delicious! A lovely combination of fruit, nuts & oatmeal. Plus, it makes your house smell amazing while it’s baking & is fairly quick to put together.
I made two alterations to the recipe:
1.) I reduced the butter to 1/2 c total. I melted 2 T underneath the fruit (canned peaches and 1 past-it’s-prime apple) with the remaining going in with the wet ingredients.
2.) I used regular brown sugar because that’s what I had on hand.
Next time I will continue to reduce the butter – the dish was plenty rich without the extra 1/4 c. and probably leave out 2 T. of brown sugar. The fruit I used was quite sweet, and I think I prefer my oatmeal slightly less sweetened than the original recipe calls for.

I made this for breakfast this morning and my husband and I both really enjoyed it. It was great with peaches – the almonds were a perfect finishing touch!

I made this for breakfast last night. I couldn’t wait til morning to eat it so I had it for dinner with a little milk. Not only was it easy but completely adaptable for every taste. I used brown sugar over peaches and then cinnamon-sugar on top with the almonds. I think you could pretty much use any fruit and sweetener combo! So delicious and transportable I brought it to work for a snack!

Delicious! I can’t wait to try out other fruits. I loved it so much I’m taking it to my Sunday School class next week!

Great recipe! Easy to follow, really adaptable and nicely filling for any meal. I ate it for a midnight snack.

I made this with apples and used brown sugar instead of the demerara (which I didn’t have). I also reduced the butter to 1/2 c instead of 3/4 c, as another reviewer suggested. I found that it was still a bit too rich for my taste and also too sweet. If I make again, I will likely reduce the maple syrup (using a little bit more milk, if needed, for moisture) and reduce the brown sugar. The almonds on top, however, were wonderful. Don’t leave them out!

Sooooo delicious. I made it for my family tonight and can’t wait to make it again for a broader audience. Love the versatility and look forward to switching up the sweetness level, the type of fruit and the accompanying nuts. Thanks so much for this one!

Yum! Used brown sugar and made it dairy free by using soy milk and margarine. I used apples and raisins for my fruit and it turned out delicious! Instead of almonds, I used walnuts and I also sprinked cinnamon on the top.
