Description

One of my favorite dishes as a kid was one from my German grandmother. I’m not sure where she got it from and it’s not your traditional quiche but that’s what she called it.

Ingredients

  • 5 whole Eggs, Beaten
  • 16 ounces, weight Cottage Cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • ½ cups Flour

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together, pour mixture into a round, circular casserole dish (Grandma always used one of those glass pyrex type ones). Bake 30-40 minutes uncovered or until quiche is browned on top and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Quiche should be fluffy and kinda spongy/springy when you touch it.

I have also added chopped ham or bacon to the quiche, very tasty!

I have a breakfast casserole recipe that includes cottage cheese in with the eggs, so when I saw this I knew I had to try it. It is simple & delicious to make, always a favorite with me. The quiche is nice & fluffy and the cottage cheese adds a nice creamy touch. This will going into my recipe file to make again! Thanks for sharing the recipe! =)
