Description

This is your basic cinnamon toast recipe — but with an added ingredient, cream cheese! While baking, the smell will make you feel like you are in your grannie’s kitchen!

Ingredients

  • 12 slices Texas Toast (or Other Thick Sliced Bread)
  • 4 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ½ cups Powdered Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1-½ stick Butter, Softened
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ⅛ cups Cinnamon

Preparation

Begin by trimming the crust off of your bread. Once this is done, flatten the bread with a rolling pin and set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla.

Spread the mixture on six slices of bread and top with another as if you are making a sandwich.

At this point you can cut the “sandwich” into four quarters or halves. You can even cut the bread into thirds and roll each piece into a small cinnamon roll.

Melt the butter in a shallow dish. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar in another shallow dish.

Dip your bread in the butter and then the into the sugar/cinnamon mixture and place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes.

is it really 1/2 cup of cinnamon or should it be 1/2 tsp or Tbsp?
it sounds good but maybe too much cinnamon.
