You will never buy granola at the grocery store after making your own. This cinnamon and maple granola is super easy, delicious, and nutritious!
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
2. Combine oats, nuts, flax seeds and coconut. Place on a cookie sheet (with a Silpat if you have it) and toast for 10 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, combine syrup, oil and cinnamon in a small saucepan and warm through, on medium low heat, for about 5 minutes. Take off heat and add vanilla.
4. Take the oat mixture out of the oven and drizzle the liquid over the oat mixture. Stir until all the oats are coated in the liquid. Spread out and put back in oven for about 40 minutes, or until browned, mixing every 10 minutes to make sure the edges don’t burn.
5. When it looks golden brown, take it out, let cool and enjoy!

Hey csmbsailor – I was just wondering if you have ever tried coconut oil? The coconut taste is very, very light and you generally cannot taste it. However, if you still don’t want to try it, coconut oil and canola oil are interchangeable for almost all baking recipes. Hope that helps

Thanks for the recipe! I used yours and another recipe and kinda mixed ‘em. It is the best granola I’ve had and now I don’t have to buy it anymore…which saves me $!

This looks realy good except, I realy do not like the taste of coconut. What sort of oil would you recomend to substitute for the coconut oil.

Ok, i’m feeling very silly right now being new to Tasty Kitchen and all…I accidentally just rated my own recipe 3 mitts! Woops! Just thought I would disclose the unintentional 3 mitt ranking. It’s really five mitt worthy, promise!
