Description

A perfect pair with eggs in the morning or as a snack at a party!

Ingredients

  • 1 package (12 To 14 Oz. Size) Firm Tofu
  • ½ pounds Ground Meat
  • ¼ cups Minced Fresh Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1 pinch Salt And Pepper
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ cups Canola Oil Or More If Needed, For Frying

Preparation

Use a cheese cloth and squeeze out the excess water in the tofu. Make sure you get all of the water out. Then crumble it with your fingers.

In a large bowl, combine the crumbled tofu, ground meat of choice, minced onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Combine it all with a fork. Roll into 1-inch balls.

Place the flour in a small bowl for dipping. Drop the egg in another small bowl for dipping and scramble it with a fork.

Dip the balls in the flour and then the egg.

Fry the balls in batches in the oil over medium heat, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, about 5 minutes each side or until meat is cooked through. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any extra oil.

Serve with any style eggs for breakfast or as a party snack. You can add in a minced fresh jalapeno for a little heat in the sausage balls. That is my favorite way to eat these!
