I’ve already commented on this but for some reason I neglected to post my “oven mitt” review. Delicious Banana Nut bread… 5 enthusiastic oven mitts.

It was good but a little too sweet for me. It was probably the sugar coating so I might try it again without.

You named it right! My husband said it was the best banana bread he had ever eaten. Will be making this again and again. I have bananas getting black now so I can store them in the freezer. Thanks for sharing.

Delicious and VERY easy! The only changes I made to the recipe is that I used 1 C. all purpose flour and 1 C. whole wheat flour. I also omitted the nuts on top because our family is not a fan of nuts in bread. Moist, delicious, and the little amount of sugar that coats the pan makes it extra yummy!

Not your ordinary banana bread! Not only is it delicious, it is also very pleasing to the eye with the chopped nuts on top. I wasn’t sure how the sprinkle of sugar in the pan would turn out, but the bread came out like a charm. One note…I used smaller pans (7 1/4 inch) which allowed for three loaves.

It’s good, but it doesn’t taste much different than the banana bread I usually make. It is deliciously moist, and the sugar crust is great.

I made this tonight and instead of just 2 bananas i added about 5 and had to use regular milk instead of buttermilk. It still came out wonderful and my son was asking for more!

LOVED IT!!!!!
…and your tip on blackening the bananas worked like a charm!!!
Thanks to the husband distracting me in the kitchen, the only change I made was to use baking powder instead of soda – not a change I’d recommend – not as pretty as the picture but it still tastes good!

I can’t thank you enough for sharing this recipe! I have been making banana bread for years and it’s always good and my honey man is always glad to smell it cooking. This time I thought I would try something different. I tried your recipe and LOVED it! The sugar dusting made it special and the nuts on top instead of in the bread… well… genius! I thought “Two loaves, cool. We’ll eat one and give the other away.” My husband would not allow me to give it away and raved about it being the best banana bread he has ever eaten. Thanks again for sharing.
