Description

Feel the need to dip something into your hot chocolate but bored of biscuits?

Ingredients

  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Agave Or Honey
  • 2 ounces, weight Raisins
  • FOR THE DOUGH:
  • ½ ounces, weight Fresh Yeast
  • 1-¼ cup Milk
  • 5 cups Flour
  • 3  Eggs
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter
  • FOR THE EGG WASH:
  • 1  Egg Yolk, Beaten

Preparation

For the filling, in a small bowl, combine cocoa powder, butter and agave syrup. Whisk well.

For the dough, sprinkle yeast into 1/2 cup lukewarm milk or water. Let sit until mixture is foamy.

In a large bowl, mix flour, eggs, butter and remaining milk. Add activated yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms. Cover dough with plastic wrap and place in a warm spot. Let rise for 1/2 hour.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough into a square. Cut crosswise into 1-inch (2cm) wide pieces. Clean knife after each slice to make it easier to cut. Cover and let them rise for about 1/2 hour.

Heat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Brush rolls with egg yolk. Bake for about 25–30 minutes (depends on your oven) and take them out when they have a nice golden color. Let cool a little bit before serving.
